Review information

When you submit a review, the guide collects a display name, email address, rating, title, experience date and review text. It records a submission time and moderation status. Once approved, the display name, rating, title, dates and text may be read by anyone visiting the page.

The email address is retained privately for administration, moderation, duplicate prevention and requests about the contribution. A salted hash of that email is also stored to help enforce one review per company. Neither the email address nor its hash is included in the public review data.

Directory messages and reports

The contact, correction and report forms collect a name, email address and message, together with a company or review reference where relevant. Submission times and handling statuses are recorded. Authorized administrators can read these records in the directory's private inbox.

A successful form submission means the message was saved. It does not trigger email delivery, notify a listed business or create a booking, refund or account-support case. Use the business's own channel for those purposes and keep passwords, security codes and full payment details out of directory messages.

Technical information and protection against abuse

Cloudflare provides hosting, database storage and security infrastructure. Serving pages and protecting the website can involve IP addresses, request metadata and security or operational logs.

The application limits repeated submissions using a salted hash derived from network information and a time window. It stores that identifier with a request count and expiry time. Raw IP addresses are not stored in the review records. Expired rate-limit entries are cleared when the limiter next runs, separately from the retention of reviews and messages.

Sessions and measurement

You can browse without creating a public account. Authorized administrators sign in using a secure, HTTP-only session cookie that lasts eight hours. The hosting provider may use additional necessary security mechanisms, including cookies.

The directory currently uses no advertising networks or marketing analytics. Personal information submitted through its forms is not sold or shared for targeted advertising. Technical delivery and security records are distinct from marketing measurement.

After you leave a directory page

Other websites and social or review platforms apply their own privacy practices. Telephone and email links open the corresponding application on your device. The guide does not record your call or receive messages you send directly to a company through those links.

Google Maps links take you to Google's service; its privacy policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy Reviews viewed on an external site remain there and are not added to the guide's community-review database.

Retention and your requests

Published contributions remain visible unless removed. We retain private submission details, messages and moderation records as needed to administer the service, address requests, investigate misuse and satisfy applicable obligations. The directory has no fixed automatic deletion period for these records.

Email onward@thistlecrossing.com to ask about access, correction or deletion of information you supplied. Explain which submission you mean without including unnecessary sensitive documents. We may verify your relationship to the information. The rights and retention requirements that apply depend on your location and the circumstances.

Children and future changes

The guide is intended for adults. Please do not submit children's personal information. Tell the publisher if you believe it has been included in a review or private message.

Changes to directory features or information handling may require an updated notice. The date displayed on this page shows when this version was last revised.
